Adventist Community Services of Greater Washington (ACSGW) recently received a wellness score of 84 percent from the Capital Area Food Bank, where ACSGW orders most of the food it distributes in the community.

“We are concerned about the health of our clients and welcome ACSGW being recognized for the quality of food we distribute,” says Ken Flemmer, ACSGW executive director.

ACSGW, located in Silver Spring, Md., uses CAFB guidelines when ordering, but the staff estimates that its score is actually even higher considering other healthy food it orders and distributes that does not get ranked by the CAFB.
