Breath of Life Member Receives New Coast Guard Post

Washington Johnson II, a commander in the United States Navy Reserve recently assumed the position of Officer in Charge (OIC) of Religious Support for Reserve Chaplains serving in the United States Coast Guard (USCG).

Johnson, a member of the Allegheny East Conference’s Breath of Life church in Fort Washington, Md., is currently assigned to the Coast Guard headquarters in Washington, D.C. He also serves as assistant director of Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries at the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists in Silver Spring, Md.

In 2013 Johnson was mobilized to the Horn of Africa as the deputy command chaplain for 4,000 service members and civilians at Camp Lemonnier.
