Cleveland Spanish Youth Distribute Blankets, Food to Homeless

Story by Ohio Conference Staff

Pathfinders and members of the youth department at Ohio Conference’s Cleveland First Hispanic church in Cleveland recently collected and distributed 35 blankets along with hot chocolate, sandwiches and soup to homeless people in downtown Cleveland. During the outing, the youth and their parents also distributed Signs of the Times magazines.
Angel Perez, Pathfinder director, says, “It has been a very good experience for all of us, especially when this is the first time that we have done this. We gave them not only food but, more importantly, we gave them hope and let them know that, no matter what your situation is, God is and always will be there.”

Other participants stated they wanted to do similar activities more often. One shared, “We [are] always worried for the people and families at church, but we forget about the people, our brothers and sisters in Christ out in the street.”

Group leaders are planning more outreach activities.
